Wilfred Abrahams is an attorney-at-law with more than 30 years of professional experience and a public servant whose work has been defined by service, reform, and community development. He first entered electoral politics in Christ Church East in 2011 and was successfully elected in 2018.

He has held several senior ministerial portfolios, including Energy and Water Resources, where he resolved longstanding sewage challenges along the South Coast within weeks of assuming office and launched the government’s policy of transitioning to fossil-fuel-free energy by 2030. He currently serves as Minister of Home Affairs and Information.

Wilfred has led major institutional reforms across key state agencies, including Immigration, the Barbados Water Authority, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, the Barbados Meteorological Service, and the Barbados Fire Service, helping modernise operations and improve service delivery.

In Christ Church East, his community work includes education initiatives such as the CXC Second Chance Programme, scholarships, youth development, and extensive support for sports clubs and athletes. His tenure has also seen major upgrades to playing fields, parks, and green spaces across the constituency.

His political philosophy is rooted in service, accessibility, and commitment, guided by his enduring motto: “I got your back.”
