William Duguid brings decades of professional and public service experience to national leadership. Trained as a dentist, he studied at Harrison College and the University of Wales College of Medicine and completed postgraduate training through the Royal College of Surgeons. His professional career includes service in the United Kingdom and Barbados and recognition as a Fellow of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons Dublin.

First elected to Parliament in 2003, he has served Barbados in numerous leadership roles, including Chairman of the National Petroleum Corporation, Chairman of Bayview Hospital, General Secretary and Vice President of the Barbados Labour Party, and in multiple Cabinet portfolios including Transport, Works and Maintenance, Housing, Lands and Maintenance, and his current senior ministerial responsibility.

His work reflects a deep understanding of how infrastructure, housing, and planning shape daily life and national development. A Justice of the Peace and recipient of national recognition, William Duguid’s leadership is disciplined, experienced, and focused on building a Barbados that functions better for every citizen.
